25 years ago today, ttyymmnn and mrs. ttyymmnn got married. Mad props to this beautiful woman who married a broke, wannabe musician and supported him all these years. A loving wife, a caring and supportive mother to our three boys, I couldn’t wish for more. And yes, ttyymmnn had a mullet back in the day. I regret nothing.
My wonderful ‘88 Fox wagon. That car lasted half our marriage.

Thanks! “Lovely” doesn’t do her justice.

oooo a 2-door wagon!

I loved that car. It was the first I ever owned entirely myself (my dad bought it when I left for grad school, and I paid him back—with interest).

Many happy returns to both of you, I’ve only been married long enough to know that celebrating an anniversary like this is a bigger deal than I could have imagined before I was married. Its the hardest best job ever.

You shouldn’t regret the mullet. I probably would have had one too if I wasn’t in the Navy for the majority of the 80s, and most of the kids who ridicule it probably would have had one if they were around back then. Do you think all of those handlebar mustaches and ridiculously long beards are going to look normal in 30 years?
![]() 06/23/2015 at 12:10 |

Well, lovely certainly does you justice.

Many happy returns to you and Mrs ttyymmnn! my wife and I will be celebrating our 22nd next month. Looks like she’s gonna keep me after all ;)

We decided that we weren’t going to get gifts for each other, but I still bought her roses. I gave them to her this morning, and she reminded me of our agreement. I replied, “If I’ve learned anything in 25 years of marriage it’s that flower occasions require flowers, regardless of agreements.”

No sunglasses, photogray lenses, the ones that get dark in the sun. They were actually dark pretty much all the time.

Mad props, indeed. Congrats!

I liked the mullet, but when I moved to Houston after we married it was just too damned hot.

Thanks!

Awesome! Here’s to many more!

For me just existing in Houston would be too damned hot. One summer stationed in Orlando turned me off from the South forever. Ninety degrees with 100% humidity? Humans live in that?

old school transition lenses! nice

Thanks!

Don’t feel bad about the mullet. 25 years ago I had one too the only difference is that I had no say in the matter.
![]() 06/23/2015 at 12:28 |

I know we have been back and forth on this one, but here was mine (again)! Congrats to you guys, 25 is a hell of a long time to have something last these days!

Congratulations! Here’s to many more.

And THAT'S why I didn't have photogreys after my first pair up until the last 5 years or so ago. What a PITA those were.

She’s cute. Is she single?
![]() 06/23/2015 at 12:50 |

Yeah, they were pretty awful. And this was in the relatively early days of the technology. They were
never
clear. And they never got all that dark.

I miss that car. I still think the wagon looks damn nice. Great proportions.

Awesome vest. Love the bow tie!
![]() 06/23/2015 at 12:55 |

I also have a vest shot like this haha. Need to dig that one out for real
![]() 06/23/2015 at 12:56 |

How old were you when it was taken? That is the important question.
![]() 06/23/2015 at 12:58 |

2 or so
![]() 06/23/2015 at 13:10 |

Nice. Hope you have many more.

Thanks! So do I!
![]() 06/23/2015 at 13:21 |

So you’re saying we
all
have a chance?
![]() 06/23/2015 at 13:24 |

At 25 years of wedded (bliss) with a beautiful woman? Yes, you all have the chance.
![]() 06/23/2015 at 13:51 |

Legitimately made me laugh out loud at work just now. haha

As someone who is coming up on their 2 year anniversary, I have to say, Wow! Congratulations and wishing you many, many more happy anniversarys to come.
Also, that mullet looks fantastic. The only thing that would have made it better is if you had an IROC instead of the Fox. Haha!
![]() 06/23/2015 at 20:42 |

Thanks, and many more to you!
![]() 06/23/2015 at 20:51 |

And what happens at the reception stays at the reception. ;o)
![]() 06/23/2015 at 22:14 |

Yeah, I should have passed on the thumpers.
![]() 06/23/2015 at 22:58 |

Always nice to meet a fellow nuke. I was class 0403 in Charleston, SC. and prototype in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Awesome, man, and many, many congrats on finding that one special girl to put up with the vaaaaast majority of your quirks. As we all know, no woman will ever put up with ALL of them, but one who puts up with a lot is a keeper. :)
![]() 06/24/2015 at 17:13 |

I’d like to say:
Congrats!
What parts of VA were those photos taken?
Here is a little piece of 2004 we like to call,
“Michael, don’t you DARE put that cake in your pocket”
![]() 06/24/2015 at 18:05 |
|
1. Thanks!
2. Norfolk. The reception was at the officer’s club at the Naval Base. My father-in-law was a retired Marine colonel.
3. My wife was convinced that I was going to smash the cake in her face. I had no intention of doing so, but it was lots of fun watching her squirm, thinking that I was going to.
Also, you can really see the mullet in this shot.

I thought that was Ft Myers at first. That brick behind the Fox screamed early-mid 20th century military installation.
LOL about the cake. Mrs McMike was paranoid about it making a mess, so here I’m showing her how wide to open to allow me to feed her in cleanly.
I was hoping to get away with not dating ourselves with style, and there I am with frosted, spiky tips.
Damn. That was my intent. Classic tuxedos, nothing silly, and I still failed.
